PRU BSN TAKAFUL

Prudential Assurance Malaysia Berhad (PAMB) was established in Malaysia in 1924.

Insurance is a transfer of risk from an individual like you, or an organization, such as your company, to an insurance company. You or your company will be known as a policyholder. The insurance company will receive payment from you in the form of premium and if you suffer from any loss or damage, the insurer will compensate you.

Takaful is a protection plan based on Shariah principles. By contributing a sum of money into a takaful fund in the form of participation (tabarru), you sign a contract (aqad) to enable you to become a participant by agreeing to one another, if one of the participants has a determined loss.

Both insurance and takaful have the same fundamental principles. For example, a policyholder (you) must have a legitimate interest in the item or life that is insured. This means that you will incur a financial loss in the event of any damage or loss to the property or life that is insured.

You do not have to buy more than one policy or plan to protect your property. If you have more than one policy, you can only make one claim if any loss or damage occurs. The amount payable will be contributed by the insurance companies involved. Therefore, you can not profit from general insurance policies or takaful plans. If you suffer losses, the insurer will compensate you for compensation or you will be shown to the same situation before the loss. However, you can buy more than one policy to protect your life.

The insurance or takaful contract is on principle of absolute trust. Therefore, you as a policy or planholder must disclose all necessary information. If you fail to disclose that information, your policy or plan may be invalid and you will not be covered for any loss or damage.
